The End is Nigh!

The End of this brief anyway.. it has been interesting, frustrating, and well worth doing as it has lead on to so much other information and new ideas, the briefs we are given are a starting point when do the stop? not just at assessment time I still dont have a totally finished piece, I am still devolping ideas and playing with other ways of working the texts. We have a new brief .. I dont know if the work I have done will continue within this brief or work along side it, we shall have to see.

I will start a new blog for the new brief, but this one will continue !

I did what I wanted..............which was nothing LOL

what a week of stress......... the winter show is up and running... we have all put our stuff in.. I did some text work there was going to be a video aswell but it didnt work in away I wanted. There was a great mix of work .. glass work, video installations, sculpted boobs, and pics... and more !

Its also build up to assessments.. can my brain cope with more this week? who knows.......

ok deep breaths, this week I have done my screen prints and got them on the wall ! they look great, you dont know this and I maybe lying to you... but hey lol...the one on canvas has been dirtied up alittle and looks pretty damn good ( once again I could be lying) the one on Brownish paper is being sewing into with the wool i used on the frame.. that doesnt look as good but hey cant be perfect all the time !

text work

playing with text cut from a book, the book was about books written in the late 1800's and had bits of text in, I chose these not quite randomly but because I liked them :D then I took them and placed them in different orders to make a new paragraph or small story.

as the weekend snow continues

We wonder if the cold will leave us, its in our bones and in our hearts, it makes our eyes feel heavy and bed the best place on earth.

and the work continues

after the text word had been woven on to the woollen background I decided to see Sam in print about doing a silk screen print of it, I thought the bobbly wool would look really cool, we were a little worried about putting the whole frame in the machine but it worked really well, on the screen you can really see the strands of wool behind the letters, so im hoping that the print we get off it comes out well I want to do smaller prints of just the strands as well ass the text.  I would like to scan them back in and work more on them with the other text im using.

Happy new year People of the world

Back on track for proposal of work to the college I have to write an explanation of what I am doing ..why and how much it will cost... thankfully it wont cost anything as its all digital and within the college, I either want the feedback to go on the tvs or back online, I think it may look quite cool to scroll across the screen.... its something I have to decide on pretty damn soon !
